With the current world cup in South Africa coming to a close, what was your favorite world cup theme song?  Can you even remember the official song for World Cup 2006?  Damn, I can’t even remember who hosted it!  Below is a song that I remember.  Catchy tune and a music video I can’t forget.  I think that this was a breakthrough concept for a music video during that time, and an original idea with a worldly theme.  See if you agree with me.

The Axis of Awesome were an improve comedy trio from Australia.  They hit it big when their gig was broadcasted all over YouTube.  Below is the clip that made them famous.  Taken from the Melbourne International Comedy Festival, Axis of Awesome shows you that a lot of pop songs use only 4 musical chords to make their top billboard hits.  You might be a little disappointed with your pop stars after you listen to this.

This song was made popular by the Eurythmics, but Marilyn Manson does something a little crazy with it.  He may be strange, but this video is one true original masterpiece.  Good Morning Bangkok!

“Dear Mama” off the album Me Against the World by 2 Pac

Widely regarded as one of the most emotional and respected songs of  2 Pac.  Dear Mama showed a softer side of 2 Pac, and the problems he faced within.  The video also shows Afeni Shakur flipping through a photo album filled with pictures of 2 Pac’s life.

On the lighter side of things, check out this awesome guitarist playing the well known Super Mario Theme Song on 2 separate guitars.  Ingenious and original.  I don’t think I can separate my brain power like that.

So hear it is… number 2 of my list of the best rap records of all time.  Original and classic.  Check it out, but I’m sure you’ve already heard it, and its on your top ten playlists on your I-pod anyway.

Hey everyone.  I’ve decided to give you 1 song a week for the next 10 weeks to highlight the 10 best rap songs of all time.  Now this is just my opinion, and I’m sure you probably won’t agree with me for all of them.  Maybe not even one of them!  Anyway, I had to leave so many of my own personal favorite tunes out, cause I tried to pick the best ones that really had a great impact on the music industry.  Enjoy and I look forward to posting another one for you to check out next Tuesday.
