Nobody Kills Jack Bauer

Keifer Sutherland’s action drama, “24″ will be airing its last episode in June. After 9 successful years, FOX has decided to end the show on a high note, but many think that maybe they just ran out of obstacles or ideas for Jack Bauer to solve/kill/torture. The script for a “24″ feature film, said to be set in Europe, is currently being written and could feature some time next year.

Nightmare on Elm Street 2010

Nightmare on Elm Street 2010

Nightmare on Elm Street Official Trailer

Check it! Check it!  Freddy Kreuger in the 80s was scary enough, but coming out in April is “The Nightmare on Elm Street.”  There’s been all this talk about how no one can take away Wes Craven’s original masterpiece and that Robert Englund was the only true Freddy.  But shouldn’t we wait and see the movie first before we decide?

Check out this link below for a great blog written about the original Nightmare on Elm Street.

Ooh. Trivia.  Did you know the Johnny Depp was in the original movie?  It was his first film debut.

Will you go watch the new Nightmare on Elm Street?

Kill Bill star Uma Thurman’s new comedy movie Motherhood has become a box office flop after taking in just 88 pounds in its debut weekend.
The actress, who stars as a harassed Manhattan mother-of-two in the comedy directed by Katherine Dieckmann, was screened for three days at London’s Apollo Piccadilly Circus, the only cinema to show the film and was received so poorly, Contactmusic reported.
The film’s total takings for last Sunday were 9 pounds, which meant only one person paid to watch it on that day!

What happened Uma? All I remember was that yellow track suit with your Onitsuka Tigers.  Lucky for you that you’re starring in the next Robert Pattison movie, “Bel Ami.”  Hopefully, that movie might reignite your career.

Tron Poster 1982

The Original Tron 1982

For those of you too young to remember, TRON was an American science fiction movie by Walt Disney released in 1982 starring Jeff Bridges.  Back then, computers were a thing of the future and the whole concept of immersing a human being into a computer program was virtually unheard of.  Keep in mind that with even the most up to date video technology, combining computer animation and live action did not even exist yet.  The film received mixed reviews with a Rotten Tomatoes score of 68%  TRON was released on July 9, 1982 in 1,091 theaters grossing USD $4.8 million on its opening weekend. It went on to make $33 million in North America, moderately successful considering its $17 million budget.

Fast Forward to 2010.  Same Concept.  Different Time.  Totally different audience.  With today’s technology, what will the people at Disney have in store for the audience that vaguely remembers the computer animation used in the original TRON?  How will it capture the attention of an audience already surrounded with the latest technological gadgets where computer animation is already incorporated in almost every movie to come out of Hollywood?

Check out this trailer released during the 2009 Comic-con.  Will you go see TRON Legacy in 2010?
